Today we have seen an increase in the number of women in tech, but the numbers are still very small overall. From field to field, while it does vary, the average percentages you’ll find in a tech related industry is roughly 25 percent, with only about five percent of them female founders.
Although the numbers in tech overall are low, the area of cryptocurrencies is where we see even less involvement by women. Only about five to seven percent of crypto users are women.
While there are many factors as to why these numbers are so low, it does not mean that there are not women who are actively involved in the world of crypto. There are women present in every aspect of the field working to change the game. In this article, we will highlight some of the predominant women who have been at the forefront of this technology.
